What this service is

Delaware Garage Door Pros is a referral service. We pass your garage door request to independent local companies that may contact you with quotes. We are not a contractor. We don't perform repairs or installations, employ technicians, set prices, schedule visits or provide warranties.

Free, with no obligation

Using the site and requesting quotes is free for homeowners. You're under no obligation to hire any company that contacts you.

How we're paid

Participating companies may pay us to receive requests, on a flat per-request basis. That doesn't change what you pay the company, and it isn't an endorsement.

The companies are independent

Any agreement for work is between you and the company you choose. That company is responsible for its work, pricing, insurance, estimate, warranty and conduct. We don't verify licenses, insurance, reviews or qualifications. Before hiring, we suggest you:

• Ask for proof of liability insurance. Ohio doesn't issue a state license for garage door companies. The state's construction trade licenses cover HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing and hydronics. Ask any company for proof of liability insurance, and ask your city or township whether it requires contractor registration.
• Ask for a written estimate and any trip or diagnostic fee up front. Ohio rules generally require the company to offer you a written, oral or no estimate for repairs over $25 (Ohio Adm. Code 109:4-3-05).
• Ask for an itemized bill when the work is done.
• Know your cancellation rights where they apply. If you sign a contract at home, Ohio's Home Solicitation Sales Act generally lets you cancel until midnight of the third business day. Repairs you called the company out for are usually excluded, but extra products sold during that visit (like a new door or opener) may not be. Read the cancellation terms before you sign.
